Arkeomedya tarafından hazırlanan Arkeoloji Sohbetleri’nin 5. Bölümünde konuğumuz özellikle Türkiye’de arkeoloji ile uğraşan herkesin yakından tanıdığı Prof.Dr. Mehmet Özdoğan. ‘Neolitik Dönemi Yeniden Tanımlamak’ adlı semineri Arkeomedya Youtube kanalından izleyebilirsiniz. 

Bu seminerde, dünya tarihinde en önemli kırılma noktalarından biri olan neolitik devrimin yeni bilgiler ışığında değişen tanımı açıklanıyor ve günümüzde kabul gören tanımına kadarki görüşler tanıtılıyor. Humboldt’tan Smith’e, Pumpelly’den Childe’a bu alanda kuramlar üretmiş düşünürlerin görüşleri sunuluyor.

Türkiye’de son yıllarda yapılan neolitik dönem kazılarında elde edilen veriler sonucunda neolitik kültür algısında meydana gelen değişiklikler anlatılıyor.  Doğal çevre ile neolitik dönem arasında kurulan ilişkinin farklı ortam türlerindeki bulguların analizi sonucu gerçeği yansıtmadığının keşfi üzerine başlayan neolitik tanımının yeniden gözden geçirilme süreci ortaya konuluyor.

Geçmişte tarımın başlangıcı ile ilişkilendirilen neolitik devrim, bu yeniden gözden geçirme süreci sonrası değişiyor ve neolitik dönem tanımı genişliyor.

Bunların yanı sıra çanak çömlekli neolitik ve çanak çömleksiz neolitik arasındaki ayrımlara değiniliyor ve insan topluluklarının evrimi gözler önüne seriliyor.

Bu seminerde alan mülkiyetinin doğuşu, katmanlı toplumun ortaya çıkışı, bir tür elitizmin varlılığına ilişkin kanıtlar, planlı yerleşime dair keşifler gibi diğer birçok konuya dair de bilgi edinme şansı bulabilirsiniz.

Kutsalın mekânda yansımalarının görülmeye başlanması sonucu ortaya çıkan kült yapıları, diğer yapılardan ayıran özelliklerin detaylı değerlendirilmesine de yer verilen seminerde;  Özdoğan tarafından ‘Göbeklitepe Kültür Bölgesi’ olarak tanımlanan alanda, neolitik döneme ait bulgular daha derin bir bakış açısı ile alınıyor ve anıtsallık kavramının göreliliği Göbeklitepe örneği üzerinden açıklanıyor.

At this seminar, in the light of new information, changing definition of the neolithic revolution which is one of the most important breaking points of world history is explained and the views up to the currently accepted definition are introduced. From Humboldt to Smith, from Pumpelly to Childe, arguments of thinkers who have produced theories in this field are presented.

The changes in the perception of neolithic culture as a result of the data obtained in the recent neolithic excavations in Turkey are explained. The reconsideration process of the definition of neolithic, which began after the discovery that the relationship established between the natural environment and the Neolithic period did not reflect the truth as a result of the analysis of the finds in different types of environments, is revealed.

The Neolithic revolution, which was associated with the beginning of agriculture in the past, is changing after this reconsideration process and the definition of the Neolithic period is expanding.

In addition to these, the differences between pre-pottery neolithic and pottery neolithic are mentioned and the evolution of the communities is revealed.

In the seminar, which also includes a detailed assessment of the characteristics that distinguish the cult structures that emerge as a result of the reflections of the sacred begin to appear in landscape, from other structures; neolithic finds in the area defined by Özdoğan as ‘Göbeklitepe Cultural Region’,are discussed in a deeper perspective and in this context, the relativity of the concept of ‘monumentality’ is explained through the example of Göbeklitepe
